Former PM Scott Morrison’s New Christian Book: A Conversation

Last week I was a guest on the Australian Christian podcast, The Pastor’s Heart.

The host, Dominic Steele, and I discussed former Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s new book, Plans for your good - A Prime Minister’s Testimony to God’s Faithfulness. As the title suggests, this book is more than a political biography: it’s about Morrison’s faith in Christ. Morrison writes:

‘Most politicians write books about what they’ve done. This book is my story of what I believe God has done through His faithfulness in all my life’s circumstances, and how I came to truly understand God’s promises in Jeremiah 29:11. It’s also a book about what God can do in your life. His promise is not just for me and it’s not just for good times. It’s for you and whatever you’re facing today too.

He continues:

‘Like you, I’m far from perfect. I can’t pretend to have lived a life unstained by sin, selfishness, pride and more. After all, I’m a politician! But I can testify to a life eternally marked by God’s goodness, by His saving grace through Jesus Christ, and by the sustaining presence of His Holy Spirit. My prayer is that He will give you eyes to see that His plans are for your good too.’ [1]

I enjoyed this conversation (and Morrison’s book), and I hope you do too. To listen to this episode on Apple Podcasts, click here. Otherwise, you can view it on YouTube:
